In short:  Brunch Upon A Time is the destination for New Yorkers and visitors looking for their perfect brunch - whatever that may entail.  Created by a native Manhattanite, BUAT takes an insider's look at some lesser known and some popular brunch spots, but looks beyond just reviews.  BUAT focuses on those little brunch extras that can make all the difference.  From outdoor dining to best brunch outfits to restaurants that take reservations, we (think) we've thought of it all so that you can have a quick and easy resource for all things brunch in New York City.

The longer version:
New York City.  Arguably the best city in the world.  Culture, shopping, history, nightlife, food - oh, the food!  But what really makes this city stand out is the diversity of the people who live here.  Aside from the born and raised (like me!), we welcome thousands of college students, recent graduates and tourists every year who are looking for that unique taste of New York.  But there is one thing that connects us all, that spans generations, boroughs and backgrounds:  BRUNCH!

A cultural, culinary and social experience, NYC brunch is a staple in our otherwise busy, crazy lives.  All kinds of restaurants open their doors with a special menu each weekend, often with specials like live music, make your own bloody Marys, bottomless drinks, and so much more.  With such emphasis on this meal that only comes twice a week, it is important to know what you're in for so you can plan for the best brunch in NYC.  

I'm Stacy, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to Brunch Upon A Time!  This blog/website was created after my 26 years of NYC brunching.  I've always been a bit of a tour guide to out-of-town friends (especially going to NYU where I was one of the few who knew my way around the island).  So, it seemed only natural to put all my brunching to good use, to act as a guide for not just any old brunch, but the most exciting, unique and special brunch experiences in the city.

Whether you are new to New York, just visiting or born and raised here, I'm sure you will find some new brunch spots that you will love.  I've divided the site into a couple of content areas where you can check out brunches by category (best outdoor brunch, gluten-free friendly brunch, best date spots for brunch, etc.), by location, by price range, and more, in addition to special features including fashion, culture and news.  As time goes on, and more brunches are eaten, I'll continue posting fresh, new content.  In the mean time, I welcome your feedback, suggestions and comments to continue making this site as useful and fun as possible.
